A Maryland police officer has been suspended for using a helmet while on duty.
The Baltimore Sun reports that officers from the BPD’s Major Crimes Unit wore helmets on patrol, but the department said in a statement that no officers were arrested for wearing helmets while on the job.
The statement added that the department “did not find the use of the helmets to be excessive.”
The Baltimore Sun reported that police did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment on the suspension.
This story was updated to include additional details about the helmet suspension.
